Works Included in Jewish Wisdom Literature. The wisdom literature of ancient Judaism includes three Old Testament books, Job, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes,10 as well as two apocryphal works, Sirach (also known as the Wisdom of Jesus ben Sira or Ecclesiasticus) and Wisdom (also known as the Wisdom of Solomon). While Sirach and Wisdom of Solomon are not part of inspired Scripture, they are important literary works that provide part of the background to the New Testament.11
